The KFG colloquium continues on Wednesday, June 7th with an interdisciplinary workshop on theories and methods on "History of Knowledge", organized by Amy Zhou and Junior Fellow Brian Van Wyck.

Brian Van Wyck is a historian and assistant professor at the University of Maryland. He specializes in the history of migration from Turkey to West Germany. His current research focuses on how West Germans and Turks grappled with the permanent presence of Turkish guest workers, refugees, and their families in West Germany from the 1960s onward. In the summer term 2023, he is a junior fellow at the KFG in Munich.

Amy Zhou is assistant Professor of sociology at Barnard College, Columbia University. Her research and teaching interests include healthcare, inequality, race/ethnicity, development, and science and technology studies. Professor Zhou's research has examined health inequalities in both the US and global setting. One line of research explores the impact of global health policies. Another line of research looks at racial health inequalities in the US, focusing on the meaning of race in delivering racially targeted health services. Recently, she has started a new project that examines the social and ethical implications of gene drive technologies.

Participation is possible in person or via zoom after registration under the following link.
